Installed in public paths, emergency stairways, car park and commercial ramps, the snow melting system melts snow and prevents icing that can cause accidents on public access areas.
Our heating cables are ruggedly constructed to resist tough installation conditions in the concrete slab. The heating cables can be cut-to-length 'in the field' for maximum design flexibility. The combination of a heavy braid and a thick jacket gives the heating cable unrivalled resistance to potential damage during installation. The self-regulating principle also avoids burn-outs or overheating in air voids.
The new VIA-DU-20 electronic control unit features a new sensor that senses both ground temperature and moisture in order to operate the heating system only when temperature falls below the set value and when moisture is detected. Thanks to the combined sensing operation, the VIA-DU-20 reduces the cost of operating the system by up to 80%. Whereas conventional systems start working when temperature falls below the set point, even without precipitation, the Raychem system is never activated in dry atmospheric conditions.
