TDUX is an inflatable, re-enterable duct seal used to close off ducts carrying power or communication cables, or to seal empty ducts prepared for future use. It is designed for ease of installation, even when water is present, and can be installed in minutes without special tools or adhesives.

Once inflated, the TDUX seal expands inside the duct, providing an airtight and watertight pressure seal up to 0.5 bar (7 psi). This prevents the ingress of water, gas, and dirt into underground infrastructure and protects cables and fibres from contamination and corrosion.

TDUX seals are compatible with ducts 30 mm to 125 mm, with extension up to 210 mm using RDSS adapters.

For larger duct sizes beyond the standard TDUX range, Cable Accessories Ltd also supplies Raychem RDSS Cold-Applied Duct Seal Adapters (RDSS-AD-210). These adapters extend the sealing range of TDUX-125 and TDUX-150 up to 210 mm duct diameters.

Sealing ducts up to 210 mm is now possible by combining CommScope TDUX seals with Raychem RDSS-AD-210 adapters.

This combination is ideal for large-diameter cable routes, multi-cable backbones, and industrial or transport infrastructure ducts where conventional plugs are not feasible.

Installation requires only a TDUX-IT-16 Inflator and CO₂ cartridge:

  1. Clean and lubricate duct and cable.
  2. Position the TDUX seal or RDSS adapter around the cable or inside the duct.
  3. Connect inflation tube and inflate to 3.0 bar.
  4. Hold pressure for 30 seconds, remove inflator, and close access port.
